TEDxPeachtree: Break Through 2011

Gary Palgon
Nov 07, 2011

There are many ways to spend a day off from work, but today I chose to attend TEDxPeachtree - or rather they chose me since it's free to attend, but you have to apply and get accepted.  Most people have seen a TED video or two - usually a mind-blowing exercise in the "Power of Ideas".

Visit TED to see what I'm talking about.

Morality Without Religion, Perceptions are Reality. Or are They?, Your Brain: The Ultimate Remote Control, Wirelesss Data From Every Lightbulb, etc. This list goes on. Interesting titles, but nothing compared to the stories they tell, the accomplishments they have made and the things they aspire to.

Many of us run so fast everyday that we forget to pause and enjoy the small things in life that really are the big ideas.  The most fascinating thing is that it’s the big, far-fetched ideas - which seem insurmountable - that when tackled, not only make a difference in one person’s life but can affect the entire world for generations to come.  Have you ever thought about how babies learn words and when?  Or how non-verbal communication takes place?

Check this out: http://www.ted.com/talks/deb_roy_the_birth_of_a_word.html

There is simply too much to cover in a blog, but don't forget to pause every once in a while from the working world and learn from other people’s big ideas and be inspired in your everyday life to do great things and make a difference!

What's your big idea?

Gary

*Gary will be spending time at the Liaison booth tomorrow at TAG's HealthIT Summit in Atlanta. Please stop by, especially if you are seeking an exciting career with Liaison.

Thanks so much for attending and for the thoughts about your experience. We love that the conference made you "...sit and stare." We hope you can keep the feeling you got after TEDxPeachtree and will share it with others. You are right, big ideas can become reality when people step up to take them on.
